At Nishiya water purification plant, we devised basic plan that assumed update of filtration pond and new establishment of granular activated carbon processing facility business range in 2015.
However, we reviewed basic plan to realize gross quantity handling of water rights quantity of water of Sagamiko system early, and to enlarge water supply area of Nishiya water purification plant which was natural system to flow down. By this review, we thought about headrace, clean water processing, drainage processing with a series of systems, and went ahead through examination in the whole most suitable viewpoint and devised basic plan that enlarged business range in clean water processing facility, drainage processing facility.

We pushed forward earthquake resistance of facility sequentially until now, but, at Nishiya water purification plant, there is problem in deterioration and quake resistance now in the filtration ponds. Therefore, we will push forward earthquake resistance of these facilities in future and carry out redevelopment including introduction of clean water disposal method suitable for the Haramizu quality of the water.
In addition to clean water processing facility, we gathered summary of basic plan of redevelopment which related facilities such as basic plan development of the adjacent Yokohama Channel Memorial included.

About examination result of clean water disposal method in Nishiya water purification plant
Because we have problem in deterioration and quake resistance in some facilities, at Nishiya water purification plant, we examine redevelopment. On the other hand, in the clean water processing, we inject powdery activated carbon as odor measures due to algae increase in Sagamiko of water source, but there is in the situation that it is difficult to stably process when the quality of the water particularly rapidly fluctuates.
Based on such situation, we pushed forward examination about introduction of appropriate clean water disposal method depending on the water source quality of the water and, as one, started collaborative investigation with private enterprise about granular activated carbon processing from 2011 and tested proof for introduction.
Furthermore, we installed "Nishiya water purification plant clean water disposal method review meeting" composed of outside well-informed people in December, 2012 and pushed forward examination while demanding opinions from specialized knowledge.
About the most suitable clean water disposal method to introduce into Nishiya water purification plant, we gathered result that we examined so far as report.
