Earthquake resistance of water supply facility
History was old, and, in the water supply facility of Yokohama-shi, in Kawai water purification plant, Nishiya water purification plant was completed as the modern water supply birthplace in Japan in 1915 (Taisho 4) in 1901 (Meiji 34). Because deterioration advances to this facility which supported the modernization of Japan, and there is thing which quake resistance lacks, we invite time of radical update, reconstruction and push forward earthquake resistance sequentially.
For example, we constructed earthquake resistance of the following distributing reservoir at Nishiya water purification plant.
We assume earthquake from magnitude 7 to 8 and reinforce.
One side of width of pillar reinforces thickness of floor to 55cm from 25cm from 50cm to 100cm.
Earthquake resistance of water pipe
Thing which we maintained in large quantities for to about 9,000km and the water demand expansion period after the 40s of the Showa era invites update time to sohaisuikan in Yokohama-shi sequentially. Therefore we update pipe which became old causing leak of water explosion and the quality of the water deterioration to water pipe superior in quake resistance for earthquake disaster in Water Works Bureau sequentially.
As we update the whole city sequentially, we will construct update even if it is place that we are not constructing now in future, but understanding and cooperation between is becoming essential for this construction now.
New establishment of water pipe
In place where water pipe is not installed, we bury water pipe newly and, in the case of housing land development, install.
